In order to use certain features such as enrolling in a course, you will be required to create a user account. When you do this, we will collect and store the registration data you have provided such as e-mail address, password, gender, date of birth, and age, and we will assign You a unique identifying number (“Registration Data”)

2. Profile Data

You may also have the option of providing additional information like a photo, headline, website link, social media profiles, or other data. Which may be publicly viewable by others. Course Information When you enrol in and take courses, We collect information relating to taking Courses, including, without limitation, topic, course and assessment completion activity and other items submitted to satisfy the Course requirements, (“Course Information”), your exchanges with instructors, teaching assistants, and other students; and essays, answers to questions, and other items submitted to satisfy course requirements.

3. Payment Data

If you make purchases, we may collect certain data about your purchase (such as your name and address) as necessary to process your order. You must provide certain payment and billing data directly to our payment processing partners, including your name, credit card information, billing address, and zip code. For security, we do not collect, access or store sensitive cardholder data, such as full credit card numbers or card authentication data.

4. Communications, Support Requests, Potential Abuse

If You contact Us for assistance, or to report a problem, concern, potential abuse or any issues regarding the Services, (irrespective  of whether you have created an account), We may collect and store Your contact information, communication, and/or other data about You, like Your name, e-mail address, location, operating system, IP address, any other information You provide Us in the course of such communications, and/or other information that may be collected by automated means described herein. Some of the Services may allow You to interact with other Users and/or post, share, communicate or otherwise transmit content publicly, such as by posting comments in a Course page, sending messages to others, submitting testimonials or posting photos (collectively “Shared Content” or “Public Posting”). Such shared content may be publicly view-able by others depending on where it is posted.

6. Sweepstakes, Promotions, and Surveys

From time to time, we may invite you to complete a survey or participate in a promotion (like a contest, sweepstakes, or challenge), via the Services or a third-party platform. If you choose to participate, we will collect and store the information you provide as part of participating, such as your name, email address, date of birth, or phone number. Such data will be subject to this Privacy Policy unless otherwise stated in the official rules of the promotion or in another privacy policy.  – With Other Students and Instructors:

Depending on your settings, your shared content and profile data may be publicly viewable, including to other students and instructors. If you ask a question to an instructor or teaching assistant, your information (including your name) may also be publicly viewable by other users depending on your settings.

 – Instructors:

We share data that we have about you (except your email address) with instructors or teaching assistants for courses you enrol in or request information about, so they can improve their courses for you and other students. This data may include things like your city, country, browser language, operating system, device settings, the site that brought you to Udemy, and your activities on WiseChalk. If we collect additional data about you (like age or gender), we may share that too. We will not share your email address with instructors or teaching assistants. We also enable our instructors to implement Google Analytics on their course pages to track sources of traffic to their courses and optimize their course pages.

 – Educational Institutions and Scholarship Partners:

If you are taking a course sponsored or associated with a particular Educational Partner (e.g., such as a university or scholarship/sponsored partner), we may share information about you and your performance with the university or scholarship partner, including to report on your progress in the course. Information shared with our Educational Partners will be subject to the privacy policies and procedures of such partners.

 – Business Partners:

We have agreements with other websites and platforms to distribute our Services and drive traffic to WiseChalk. Depending on your location, we may share your data with these partners.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
